FWD Receives American Recovery & Reinvestment
Act (ARRA) Funds to Construct New Water Tower
NOVEMBER 20, 2009
After a lengthy application and approval process that began in early
2009, the Illinois EPA notified the District that it had received
funding approval for the construction of a new elevated water
storage facility. The tower will be constructed near Madonnaville
and will increase the District's storage capacity and increase
pressure for customers in the District's southern service area.
A portion of the funds are in the form of loans that will have to be
repaid with District revenues. The District hopes construction can
begin in the first quarter of 2010.
